Enrolment
Enrolment Information:
To enrol your child in a Victorian government school you will need to fill out an enrolment form from that school and provide the school with important information about your child, including:
- evidence of your child’s date of birth (if they were not born in Australia, a passport or travel document such as a visa)
- your contact, phone and address details, and that of any other parent, guardian and/or carer
- names and contact details of emergency contacts
- doctor’s and dentist’s names and phone numbers
- Immunisation Status Certificate
- health and welfare information
- information about the language/s your child speaks and hears at home
Enrolment forms are available at each school. If you need an interpreter to help fill out the enrolment form, the school staff can help organise this for you.
Foundation Information:
To start Foundation, the first year of primary school, your child needs to turn five by 30 April of that year. Your child must be at school in the year they turn six, which is the compulsory school-starting age.
Edenhope College has scheduled Foundation preparation days in Term 4 each year including school visits and activities. An ‘Orientation Day’ is held in December. You and your child will benefit enormously from participating in these activities. Information days and nights are also held to help parents get to know what to expect and how to prepare for their child’s start to school. Enrolment preparation can be tailored for individual student needs should this be necessary. You are welcome to begin the process of enquiring about enrolment for your child at any time however we encourage you to begin as early as possible and take time to visit the school and see it operating on a regular school day. Contact the College for further information. We will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
Year 7 Enrolment
Transition into Year 7 is the next significant transition point for your child after Foundation and is just as important for students currently enrolled as for those that are enrolling from other schools. To ensure a smooth transition and the best possible preparation for the Secondary Years, scheduled transition activities and information events are held for students and parents. Your child’s individual needs are taken into account and additional visits can be organized if it is considered beneficial. Enrolment forms must be completed for each child entering Year 7 from another school.
