Wellbeing Information
At Edenhope College we believe that all members of our school community are better prepared for learning and teaching when they are healthy, safe and happy.
Student wellbeing encompasses everything the school does to help students develop to their full potential. Some of the ways we do this include a focus on school wide positive behaviour support strategies for staff and students as well as a focus on programs that support respectful relationships, rights and resilience.
All staff are sensitive to the wellbeing needs of the students and appropriately refer students to specialist staff for assistance.
The College has a Leading Teacher responsible for Student Wellbeing and Engagement, a Student Wellbeing Support Officer, a Counsellor and DET visiting support staff, with referrals and access provided to either face-to-face or tele-health counselling and other support services.
The Student Wellbeing Team has a network of advisory services that they can link people who require assistance, including local West Wimmera Shire services, Wimmera Uniting Care, Department of Human Services, and Department of Education and Early and Early Childhood Development Regional Support Services, for example, Educational Psychologists. Team members run a number of programs to enhance student wellbeing, for example, self-esteem, anti-bullying, anger management, and coping with grief and loss.
